- Location
- We are located one mile north of old Hilo town at the
north point of Hilo Bay. Head north to Waipio Valley (50 minutes) or Akaka
Falls (15 minutes). Turn south and head for Volcanoes National Park (45
minutes) or out to Lower Puna and the famous Red Road where the coast is
graced with hot ponds and fields of coral (40 minutes). No matter which way
you turn, getting there is half the fun as you travel through the
breathtaking beauty of east Hawaii. This area is rich in Hawaiian history
and geology. We can show you the way to a memorable vacation, in an area
that most tourists will never see. - Rooms/Suites
- The Hula Room is very spacious (600 sq/ft). It is
freshly re-modeled with Koa trim, and newly furnished including a new queen
size bed and a double bed. The entrance and bathroom have slate floors and
the main bedroom has new carpet. The room has a private entrance and private
access to the lanai and pool area. We also offer cable TV and wireless
high-speed Internet access in the suite.
The Koi Suite is also very spacious (500 sq/ft). It is brand new with kamani
hardwood floors, Koa trim, and newly furnished including a new queen size
bed. The room has a private entrance, large bathroom, private deck
overlooking the ocean and gardens, and access to the lanai and pool area.
We also offer cable TV and wireless high-speed Internet access in the suite.
- Rates
- Our daily rate is $149/night for double occupancy and we
charge &15/night for each additional guest.
Weekly rate for stays of seven days or longer is $140/night - Breakfast
- Our breakfasts have received rave reviews! Fresh
tropical fruit, many of which we have grown here on the property, an
assortment of pastries from our favorite bakery, cereals and yogurts, juice
and coffee. We promise you will be fueled up for your day of adventure...or
maybe you just want to sip coffee and read the day away! - Facilities

- We require a 25% deposit that is
refundable up to six weeks before reserved arrival date. For any last
minute cancellations, we will refund your deposit only if we can rent the
time you have reserved. All cancellations subject to a 10% service fee.
To insure availability, we recommend that you book well in advance if

My wife & I stayed at Orchid Tree for 5 days at the start of our Hawaiian holiday after finding it on TA. It met all our expectations and was as absolute delight. Our room was spacious with a lovely comfortable bed. Walk in shower was luxurious. We had our own lanai and views over the ocean. The pool and spa top off the amenities and Steve's breakfasts are lovely. Steve is very accommodating and has plenty of local information for visitors. Would not hesitate in recommending Orchid Tree & if we are ever lucky enough to visit the Big Island again this is where we'd stay. Thanks Steve. Les & Sue (Australia)
